⇓in character⇓

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Please do! Misty is very affectionate with those she cares for

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Misty delivered one hell of a beatdown to Madison Montgomery, so she can likely take it and respond in kind

ROMANCE/FLIRTING: Absolutely! Yes please!

SEXUAL CONTENT: Misty is asexual, grey neutral, so she wouldn't have sex unless it was with someone she'd been with for quite a while and it would make them happy.

PSYCHIC ABILITIES: go ahead!

MAGIC/POWERS: Misty has a plethora of magic at her disposal, listed in depth on her application. however, she never will be able to perform Descensum as that would take her out of the game and trap her in her personal Hell again

⇓out of character⇓

BACKTAGGING: Absolutely!

FOURTH WALLING: Please don't

THREADHOPPING: Go for it!

CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR, BUT CAN STILL PLAY: For me, nothing.

CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR AND THAT I CAN'T PLAY: Harm to cats.

ANYTHING ELSE: I'm pretty easy-going! Even heavy subjects like rape doesn't bother me. The only thing which flat-out sends me into an anxiety attack is harm to cats.

Canon Abilities: Resurgence, Telekinesis, Concilium (mind control, only to be used with the other player's approval), Transmutation, Divination (only to be used with the other player's approval), Magic Sensing (only to be used with the other player's approval), Evil Sensing (only to be used with the other player's approval), Chlorokinesis (to be used sparingly in case it interferes with a game event), Potioncraft, Spellcraft
Role: Familiar
Role Qualities/Attributes: the ability to shapeshift into animals, usually the types of animals found in the Louisiana swamp
Role Reasoning: Misty has both the ability to be absolutely vindictive against those who harm her (reviving the alligators and letting them kill the poachers, beating up Madison Montgomery after she killed Misty, kicking Kyle out after he broke her tape player), she can also be incredibly kind to those who treat her kindly (her close bond with Cordelia Goode, her willingness to help heal Kyle despite only knowing Zoe for a short period of time). As a Familiar, she'd be doing her best to make friends and close bonds with both Legends and Myths, helping Legends and Myths (if they have a genuine grievance against someone else).
★ Personality ★

Please choose one of the follow options for your personality section. Please clarify which option you have picked and, if option 2, which questions you are answering:

Option 2. Choose FOUR-FIVE of the following questions to answer and expand upon. You may choose a fifth question if you feel it is integral to your character's personality. Each answer has a 100-300 word requirement.

OPTION 2 QUESTIONS (PICK 4-5) 100-300 WORD LIMIT EACH:

  • What is your character's moral code? Do they have one? Why or why not? Misty has a strong moral code. When she was about to be burned, she swore to those who were burning her that they'd die in flames, though it's never shown whether or not she did it. She's also very protective of the animals in the swamp. It's been mentioned that she revived the alligators some poachers had killed, letting them kill the poachers while she watched. However, she bends towards good most of the time. As also mentioned, she helped Zoe heal Kyle after the spell to revive him didn't work out as originally planned and took Kyle in to her shack in the swamp, doing things like feeding him, talking to him to try and help him recover his mental faculties, and bathing him. The latter backfired horribly, though, which caused Kyle to break Misty's tape/8-track player so she could no longer listen to her Fleetwood Mac tapes. That to Misty was a crime she couldn't forgive. Later, when she was taken to Miss Robichaux's Academy, but declined to stay, saying that she sensed something bad about it, likely due to Fiona being the Supreme. She seems to have developed her sense of justice largely on her own, since we never hear mention of her parents.

  • Is your character capable of forgiveness or will they hold a grudge until they die? Would anything ever make them change their mind? She's the type to hold a grudge, especially against those who violate her moral code of protecting animals or her love for Stevie Nicks, both of which have been discussed in the section about her moral code. Another notable grudge is against Madison Montgomery, who she brought back to life but later knocked Misty out, put her in a coffin, and had that coffin entombed. After Misty was found and brought back to life, she beat the living daylights out of Madison, literally kicking Madison while she was down, throwing her hard against a pillar, and otherwise delivering a beatdown. However, she cooperated with Madison when the Axeman went to the Academy, threatening to kill them. She joins the other young witches into stabbing him repeatedly, even past the point where he was already dead. We don't see her reaction to Madison's death at the canon point she was taken from, but it's very likely she'd continue to hold a grudge against Madison.

  • What is your character's safespace? When do they feel the most settled and comfortable? When do they feel confident and relaxed? The Louisiana swamps, specifically her cabin hidden away. She only abandoned the cabin after a witch hunter nearly killed her and Myrtle Snow, who Misty had brought back to life after Myrtle was burned at the stake. But it's made very clear that she feels most comfortable in nature, surrounded by plant life, birds, and animals/reptiles. Stevie Nicks also makes her feel good, nearly worshipping the singer and choosing to dress in a similar bohemian/hippie style as the singer. After she's brought to Miss Robichaux's Academy to stay, she clearly feels uncomfortable around Fiona until the other witch brings Stevie Nicks (in AHS canon, another witch) over to the academy to meet Misty. Misty is overjoyed when Stevie gives Misty one of her shawls, giving Misty confidence and the thrill of meeting her idol in person.

  • What would your character sacrifice to get what they want or to reach their potential? What have they sacrificed already? Misty sacrificed her comfortable, safe home in the swamp to ultimately stay at Miss Robichaux's Academy given the fact that many people were declaring her likely the next Supreme. This idea intrigued Misty, overcoming her misgivings about staying at the academy to staying there for most of the remaining time in AHS: Coven. When the Sacred Taking (killing the current Supreme, Fiona, so that the next could emerge) was invoked, Misty clearly thought that she would take Fiona's place as Supreme. Later, after Fiona's presumed death, Misty took part in the test of the Seven Wonders, trying to prove herself the next Supreme with disastrous results, leaving her trapped in Hell for years.

  • What is a time where your character failed drastically at something and how did it impact them, what did they do about it? During the test of the Seven Wonders, Misty had to perform Descensum, a descent into Misty's personal Hell. When she did, she found herself in a children's classroom with a dissection frog in a tray in front of her. She brought the frog back to life which earned the attention of her fellow classmate who tattled to the teacher. Misty was desperate to not hurt the frog, but the teacher took the scalpel and forced it into Misty's hand, then cutting open the live frog, making Misty scream in anguish. But that moment was repeated over and over and over again, leaving Misty incapable of escape back to the real world. Misty had been given twenty four hours to perform Descensum and bring herself back to reality, so when she failed, she turned to dust. Misty remained incapable of freeing herself for presumably years, being tortured by her personal Hell until Papa Legba and Nan freed Misty from her it. When she returned, she seemed badly shaken, but there were no indications that she'd be unwilling to stay at the academy, choosing to stay of her own free will this time.

    POSITIVE TRAIT
  • LIKABLE
  • Misty's relative innocence and overall good nature make her one of the most charming characters in all of AHS canon. She's the type of person who does good deeds just for the sake of it. She's initially content to stay in her swamp shack despite her loneliness and abandonment issues, gardening and tending to others she's taken under her care. She's eager to make friends with her fellow witches and to let Cordelia take Misty under her wing as an apprentice. She shows humility, awe, and appreciation when she's proclaimed the heir to leadership of the coven and doesn't use her supposed status to lord over the other witches. She's genuinely touched, thrilled, and deeply appreciative when Stevie Nicks herself comes to visit Misty and sing for her after hearing about Misty's reputation as a fellow witch, giving Misty a shawl which had belonged to Stevie for a long time, treating Stevie's gift as a treasure. She also brings characters back to life not because it was for Misty's personal gain, but because they were dead and Misty could release them from death. Even years after Misty's death, she's remembered fondly, missed by the other characters and they are thrilled when she's brought back to life (both times). She'll also do anything she can to help others, as evidenced by the time when she's drawn out of her swamp by sensing Zoe's magic when Kyle was originally brought back to life and was in a badly damaged and feral state. She used her healing swamp mud on Kyle just because she could and she wanted to help Zoe, who was most likely the first fellow witch she'd ever met.

    NEGATIVE TRAITS
  • NAIVE
  • Misty is introduced as as a young hippie Cajun girl in rural Louisiana, being preached to by a fire and brimstone preacher. During the sermon, Misty notices the corpse of a dead bird and uses her magic to bring it back to life in front of everyone in the congregation. While it's noted that some people thought she had abilities given to her by god, most people saw it as necromancy. That led them to abducting Misty, tying her to some rusty farm equipment, dousing her in gasoline, and burning her, presumably to death. While it's true that magic is a natural gift, it's also one that a witch can control. Given where she was, it should have occurred to her that not everybody would see her powers as a good thing. And while she's smart enough to not want to stay with the coven because it gives her bad vibes, she later has to take refuge with them after a witch hunter nearly killed her. Also, Misty knew that the coven leader saw a certain character as a threat to her power, killing the character to retain power, she still brings the character back from the dead, only for that character to betray Misty, knock her unconscious, and dump her into a coffin to be entombed. While she says she knows Fiona's game as far as killing the next Supreme goes, she still lets Fiona near her and give her presents (mainly, bringing Stevie Nicks over to meet Misty).

  • ISOLATED
  • The first shot of Misty is at an outdoor revival being preached to by a fire and brimstone preacher, but even though she's in a crowd, she doesn't seem to find herself as part of the crowd, seeing a dead bird nearby and choosing to ignore the preacher and his crowd in favor of bringing a dead bird back to life. Shortly after, she's abducted from her home by a group of men, dragged through a field, and burned as a witch. Since Misty has the power of resurgence, she's able to revive herself later. At the Coven, Misty is used as an example of what happens when witches are isolated. At first when she's brought herself back to life, Misty is content to keep to herself in her swamp shack where she can garden and listen to Stevie Nicks to her heart's content. However, she can't help being drawn to another character after that character helps bring a guy who'd been kind back to life, sensing her magic. Misty offers to take in the recently resurrected young man, eager for his savior to stay with Misty and keep her company. Misty says that people couldn't be their best until they found their tribe, the set of people and circumstances which suited them best, but retreats from the opportunity to stay with the Coven. Misty later seems to be desperately lonely because she takes to talking to the guy she'd taken in like he could respond to her and be real company for her, despite his feral state. She also nearly panics every time the girl has to leave her shack offering to cook her supper and let her stay the night like a slumber party. Later, when she's told that with her powers, she could be the next witch to lead the coven, she's hesitant at first but then accepts the notion, since it would guarantee her a place in the world and people to care for and be cared for by. She also tries to befriend the witches around her age and takes another in a mentor-like role, reveling in the company of that mentor and her appreciation and praise, showing just how desperately starved for attention and friendship she'd been in the past. While Misty's mentor is eager to accept her into the fold, the other witches are far more reluctant, exampled by when Misty goes missing due to being betrayed by another witch she chose to trust, another witch is angry that her room had been given to Misty, taking her clothes out of the closet and seeming ready to throw them away, despite the fact that Misty's status was ambiguous at the time. Misty's isolation isn't entirely by choice, set apart from the crowd back home by her magic and her role as the potential next Supreme isolates her from the other witches she wishes she could be friends with, setting her apart again. Misty doesn't like her usual state of isolation and tries to take steps to remedy it, but often finds herself stymied by the nature of her power since others seem to either want to hold it against her or use her for their own agendas. All of this leads to the ultimate in isolation, trapped in her personal Hell for (as far as she knows) an eternity.

  • EXTREMIST
  • . Misty has a close bond with nature and the swamps where she grew up. That alone isn't a bad thing, but Misty can take it too far. In her second appearance, she's found a camp where alligator poachers had set up. When the poachers return with another dead alligator, she goes into a calm fury, berating them for killing God's innocent creatures and calling them murderers. Then, she brings the alligators back to life, who promptly attack the poachers, one being bitten on the shoulder and presumably killed, the other having his head eaten by a gator and dragged into the swamp water. Later, in her test to see if she could descend to Hell and come back, she's trapped in a childhood memory of bringing a dissection frog back to life and having her teacher force her to kill it over and over and over again, unable to tear herself free of the guilt and anguish at being forced to kill an animal. In a slightly lesser example, while she's still healing the resurrected guy, he in his feral state trashes Misty's shack and worst of all, takes her boom box playing Stevie Nicks and destroys it, she promptly turns on him, calling him a monster, kicking him out, and refusing to help him recover further. She is such a big fan of Stevie Nicks that she couldn't tell the difference between a genuine attack to hurt her and her feelings and the reflexive actions of a young man in a feral state and chose to punish him by kicking him out rather than try to understand his motivations.

Powers and Abilities: Misty has the power of resurgence, bringing the dead back to life. She also has telekinesis, mind control (only used with the other player's permission), and the ability to sense souls and discern if they're good or evil (only in person and with the other player's input/permission). In time, she could learn pyrokinesis and divination.
Inventory: black bohemian dress and a shawl given to her by Stevie Nicks
